Recently we changed the "sa" password on several of our servers. Now one of them (and only one) is constantly logging failures to login. Every minute a record shows up in the log. If I stop the SQL Agent, the errors stop. None of the jobs are failing, and disabling all the jobs does not affect the login errors. I've checked to be sure the agent is using Windows authentication for the Connection page in Properties. I don't get it! Profiler shows the connection with the HostName of the server and ApplicationName of Microsoft SQL Server.
All suggestions are welcome, other than just leaving Agent off. 😉
