I haven't seen anything about SQL 7 and the Slammer virus. I have 2 SQL 7 boxes and there are several MSDE 7 installations in our environment. Is SQL 7 affected by this virus?
Thanks,
Kathi

No. Only SQL Server 2000 versions are affected.

Kathi, the reason for this is that the Slammer worm exploits a buffer overflow in the SQL Server listener service that listens on port 1434. This service only exists in SQL Server 2000.
