Yes, i know why 6.5, its not my choice its someone elses...I need to restore a back up of a SQL 6.5 Server so i can transfer the data to SQL 2000 Dbase...The resore keeps blowing up and i get a Dbase Marked loading...when i check the data some has made it in and some is inaccessable...what am i doing wrong????

The backup media/file is corrupt most likely. It's coming across a bad block of data when applying the restore so it fails.
Got another (older) backup?
