SQL 2012 (SP1 + CU3) ---> SQL 2012 (SP2 + CU1)

    Hi,

    We're currently on SQL 2012 SP1 + CU3. If i wanted to install SP2 + CU1 do I have to install SP1 CU11 first which I do believe is the last CU before SP2 or can I go ahead and install SP2 right away and then follow that with latest CU1 for SP2?

    Service Packs are cumulative. So you can install SP2 and forget about SP1. Then whatever hotfix of CU later.

    Now, this is my personal opinion. Unless I really need it or I'm facing performance issues due a bug, I stay away of CUs if possible. But it's up to you. Each DBA has strong and differents opinions about that.
