I'm currently looking into the possibility of configuring a 2008 R2 failover cluster for my organisation. I'm curious as to what I will need to do. Is there some best practices guides or reference material that is a good place to learn about this?
Has anyone had any experience with this and got any info on what to do and what not to do? I'm going to be implementing it in a virtual environment. Does that change anything?
Thanks for your help.

There's plenty of walkthroughs on the net, best practises here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/pamitt/archive/2010/11/06/sql-server-clustering-best-practices.aspx
Good FAQ: http://www.brentozar.com/archive/2012/02/introduction-sql-server-clusters/

Make sure you consider licencing costs and ensure your clients apps will reconnect after a fail-over.
