SQL 2008 Hidden files?

    Thinking I am crazy I started to use another program with hopes of at least giving mention to the missing space.

    I used WinStatDir and enabled 'show unknown' and it now lists the 6.1 gb's of unknown file space on a particular drive.

    After much searching it appears at least that the space consumed per drive (6 gb's) is associated with the System Volume Information folder (or so I am told by our infrastructure group)

    Also they say it is normal and shouldn't be messed with.
