Hi all,
We have a single node sql 2008 cluster, now we want to add a new node to have a active\passive cluster. So for the new node, do we need to install the sql single instance in the new node and then add the new node by running the sql installer in the first node? Or can we just run the sql installer in the new node and add the new node to the existing cluster?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

You'll need to join the new node to the windows cluster first ensuring you present any shared storage. To add the new node to an existing clustered instance run the add node install wizard
