Hi,
We are beginning the plan to Migrate our sql2000 server to sql 2005. I am looking at the hardware requirements for installing and running a SQLServer2005, but I cannot seem to find information about the requirements to do a side-by-side installation and run both the versions on a single server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
KR

Maybe I missing it, but that just gives me the requirements for installing and running SQL Server 2005. I read that if you want to be able to run a sql 2000 and a sql 2005 side-by-side atleast until you do the migration and the upgrade you would need more hardaware resources. I do not find that information. I want to know what are the minimum requirements to run the two version side-by-side and do the upgrade at least for a period of time.
Thanks

I think some of the requirements are on a case by case basis. SQL 2005 does not seem to consume many more resources than 2000 does. The install of the product DOES consume more drive space. If your 2000 install is taking almost all of the memory on your server now then adding 2005 to it will really sqeeze your conversion effort.
