What is the maximum DB instances possible for SQL 2005 standard edition ?
We are planning to run OS= Windows server 2003 64 bit R2 standard edition with max 32GB RAM installed.

found this specific citation; 2005 and 2008 have the same maxes for this

Standard Edition can have up to 16 instances per computer, Enterprise Edition can have up to 50.
