SQL 2005 - Shortcut key to take a table to Query window

  • Hi guys,

I want to find out if this is possible at all 🙂 It will save a me lot of time.

If you go into a SQL DB and select table and you select a specific table you can right click and say Script Table As, Select To, New Query Window

Is there a shortcut key that can do the same without having to go through that process?

Or even a Stored Procedure I can create to do this with my own shortcut button (located in the Tools, Options)

Reason I want this is because the tables we use isn't always the same (different clients) so I want to check the data and doing it with the mouse takes extra time I don't have 🙂

  • I use a tool from Redgate called SQL Compare that allows me to compare database structures. If you need to get down to the data level there is SQL Data Compare. Been using it for years and greatly helps out when keeping databases in sync.

    Good luck.

I found a program called SQL Manager 2011 and it works really good 🙂

Only bad thing is I have to have this open and SQL 🙂 but doesn't look like there's any other way

    But thanks for the info
