Sql 2005 reporting services and sharepoint

  • I am running SQL 2005 reporting services on a windows 2003 machine with SharePoint over SSL

My reporting services web directories are virtual directories under the SharePoint website.

I am having a problem with loading https://sharepoint.mysite.com/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx

When you first open IE and bring up the page it takes a long time to authenticate and bring up the page.  As long as you keep IE open you can then browse back to the site and have it open at normal speed.  All testing is being done on our LAN so there is no bandwidth issues when opening the pages.

    Thanks for any suggestions

  • An additional bit of info I have found during further testing.   Once you wait through the slow connection on one machine, all machines are then able to quickly connect for a time.  I believe that reporting server is going into hibernation or something and needs to be woken up.  Any ideas are appreciated.

  • .NET tends to blow its processes after a certain time of inactivity...this is a built in security function from what i understand and is perfectly normal behavior...
