SQL 2005-Remote connects works on some PC's, not all

    Recently, we upgraded/mirrored an old computer box to a new one, which also upgraded SQL 2000 databases to SQL 2005 databases. We kept the same IP addresses and machine name the same.

    Odd thing is that when we restarted the new Server and SQL box, remote connecting worked on from some computers (ODBC also) but not on older machines. Is this an MDAC issue that needs to be updated on the older machines? Why can we connect to the new server from some computers and not others?

    Check the MDAC version on the older machines, but that seems logical. You probably just have to install a newer version of MDAC on the older workstations.
