SQL 2005 Performance - Do your apps run faster than in SQL 2000?

    1 - Upgrade to Windows 2003 to benefit from its stability and efficient memory handling compared to W2K.

    2 - Install more memory. RAM is cheap these days.

    3 - If budget allows it , use SAN storage with RAID 0+1

     

  • Thanks everyone, looks like the first thing we will do is get more memory, and some more disk and then move the data and logs to separate file systems.
