Hi All,
I have installed sql 2005 client software in my new laptop, which is a HP 6540b probook with Intel Core i5-540M processor, and running on os window xp Pro SP3 .
No problem was found when installing the sql software into this new laptop, and its able to connect up to my SQL 2005 Server. However, when I execuate a SQL query to my sql server using management studio, the microsoft sql management studio software will become not responding. It work totally fine with my old laptop which is a HP Dual Core processor with window xp pro sp2 (upgraded to sp3).
I suppose with the i5 processor, the processing speed will be much faster. Has anyone faced with the same issue before.
Is Intel Core i5-540M processor able to run on os window xp Pro SP3. or the problem is on sql 2005 management studio side. Pls adise.
Thanks.

Do you ever receive an error message or a dialogue box or time out? What about the event log, can you see anything in there, is it possible to post it?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. The event log showed normal. The problem was laied on my laptop (client) side and not the server.
The problem was resloved by lower the Hardware Acceleration rate on my laptop.
Thanks....
