SQL 2005 Management Studio Not opening

    Hi,

    I have a 2 node cluster environment on which i have installed SQL 2005 Enterprise Edition.

    The SQL Server Management Studio opens on one node. On the other node when i try to open SQL Server Management Studio, the LOGO screen appears for 2 secs and then disappears. There are no errors reported in the Event Manager as well. I'm finding this quite puzzling. I have installed both Hotfix and SP1.

    Can anyone please help me in figuring out what the problem could be?

    Are you opening on the server (one node) or your workstation? does it open from other machines?

    Yes it is an Active/Active Cluster.

    Hi,

    I am opening the SQL Server Management Studio from one node. I am not opening it from my laptop.

    Also,

    As mentioned before, SQL Server Management Studio opens on the other node.

    Did you install patches and sp1 on both servers ? I did have same problem with sp1. solution Installing sp1 on server 1 then again on server 2 did resolve the problem with the tools.
