Is it possible to run SQL 2005 Enterprise and Standard on the same server (separate instances of course)?
I recently was trying to setup something on one of our demo boxes and ran into an issue with the SQL 2005 Std. that was on the server already. I installed a new instance using the SQL 2005 Ent. install bits but it just created a new instance of SQL 2005 Std. 🙁
When trying from the command line "setup.exe SKUUPGRADE=1" I am unable to install anything but the workstation components and samples.

I don't believe u can, cause inital sql server setup will check for version of the same sql server.
You can run 2000 and 2005 on the same server, but not different version of the same sql server.

You can run them in one server by creating a new named instance:

i think you should be able to run both with different instance names.
