I am getting an error when I try to upgrade SQL 2000 32 bit SP4 to SQL 2005 32 bit. The error states "Your upgrade is blocked because of edition upgrade rules."
According to the upgrade rules you can upgrade SQL 2000 sp4 to SQL 2005. Has anyone gotten this error and what did you do about it?
Any solutions.

Which version of SQL 2000 are you using? And which version of 2005 are you upgrading to?

Going from SQL 2000 Enterprise to SQL 2005 Enterprise. Both 32 bit.

I can't find anything that says there would be a problem with that. I've never had a problem with that upgrade myself, but most of the upgrades I've done have been from 2000 Enterprise to 2005 Standard.
Unless you get an answer here from someone else, I'd start thinking about a call to Microsoft on that one.

I also tried from 2000 enterprise to 2005 standard and had the same problem.
