SQL 2000 startup parameter

    Is there a startup parameter that only allows local connections to sql server?

    I don't think so but you could use the Server Network Utility to disable all protocols. This should mean the only option for connections is Shared Memory which only works for local connections. This will require a restart of SQL Server.
