Does anyone know how you can tell how it was installed (SQL 2000)? By CPU or By Seat and the # of seats it was installed with? When I open up the Licensing panel in Windows it will not open. Don't know if there is a query to run in SQL Server to get that type info. A VP wants proof on how all of our SQL 2000 installations were installed.

I just found in Control Panel, SQL Server licenses it shows it there.
Thanks.

Note that this doesn't usually matter to Microsoft. The important thing is that you are licensed for what you use.

Yep. However, the VP here is comparing what we have purchased and what we have installed and he states if we get audited the question is PROVE it... then... we might be in trouble. Some of our very small test SQL 2000 are installed accidentally BY CPU instead of the purchased 5 seat. SQL Server 2005 does not ask you to enter what you have purchased by CPU or by seat so it doesn't matter on that edition, just SQL 2000.
