Hi
One of my servers is currently running SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition (32-bit).
[All of our servers are meant to be standard but I think someone here installed the wrong version when they did a hardware upgrade awhile back ]
Now my company want to upgrade to SQL 2005 (64-bit), and I am trying to work out the licensing and what edition we can go to.
The upgrade will be side-by-side as it will be new hardware for the 64-bit. Now, I am trying to work out if I need to go to SQL 2005 Enterprise, or can I go to SQL 2005 Standard?
From what I have read it looks like I am allowed to change to Standard Edition in a side-by-side upgrade, but I just want to confirm I can do this before I tell my boss I can 😛
Thanks!

Y, you can change the SKU when upgrading SQL from the cmdline. There's a switch for it. I think it's /ChangeSKU, but don't quote me.
