SQL 2000 and Windows 2003

  • Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there has done an install of SQL 2000 with Windows Server 2003. I would like to hear of your experiences, issues, etc.

    Thank you,

  • I did this installation for evaluation purposes on my laptop. Didn't have any issues on this so far.

    .

  • Someone else did a test install here. No issues.

  • No issues at our test environment. Only make sure you have SP3 at hand. SQL Server won't start without it (on Windows 2003).

  • The biggest gotcha I have found is if you use linked servers you need to enable DTC manually by changing the security configuration in Component Services. Other than that I have 7 machines that run it with no problems.

  • Great thanks everyone for their input.

  • Hi there

I have an article coming out in a day or two on this website covering off some of the issues. Virtually zero for sqlserver itself though.

    Cheers
