I am not sure that was a setting, but a add-on/Mod we had for the SMF based forum.
It requires a little more effort, because they actually have to make a few posts, but nothing they wouldn't do either to gain "access" to do their mischief....

Agreed. good idea. Maybe PMs after 10-20 posts, emails after 40-50 (or more). I find people emailing me more intrusive than PMs through the forums

you can add favourodily25 to the list of spam accounts; i just re-enabled PM's from t= he forum, and got a couple from that log in.

I got mine today as well. I will confess to some "morbid" curiosity to see exactly what you get from someone propositioning you on a SQL Server board....:)

We are looking through code today to see if we can do something. A number of users and IPs have been banned to try and combat this.
