  sp_MSgettools_path gives the location of the tools directory for a sql install, this is not available in 2005, does anyone know if there is a replacement in 2005 or another way to get this info?

  The SQL 2000 version gets this information from the registry, and the same registry settings appear to be SQL2005, so you could write your own sp, but choose you own name away from MS naming conventions, just in case it come back
