We are running an active/passive cluster on 2003 R2. Using SQL Enterprise x64. Previously running SP3 without any issues. Recently applied SP4. We now have issues with Analysis Services. Essentially Visual Studio, Management Studio, etc have difficulty connecting to the Analysis Server. Restarting the service seems to fix the issue for a period of time, then the issue arises again.
Not seeing anything in Windows Event logs or general SQL Server logs. Looking to see if anyone has ideas on possible causes to the issue, as well as troubleshooting ideas (other logs to look at, etc)
Thanks.

We found that we needed to apply SP1 for Visual Studio as there was a compatibility issue with SQL Server 2005 SP4

Already applied. I could try to re-apply. But I also have this issue with SQL Server Management Studio.

Please let me know when you have any new information about this.
We face the same problem since we've installed sp4.

The solution for the problem:
Cumulative update package 2 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4

Why do you think this is the solution? I don't see anything in the release not indicating my issue. Did I miss something?

We've got the information from MS Support.
(There is no public KB article about this problem.)
Since we've installed the update everything is fine.

Thanks. I will look at deploying it as soon as possible.
