Hi,
I have a requirement to install SP3 on a bunch of servers which are running merge replication (SP3 corrects a particular issue we have been waiting on for some time). However, the distributor is used by another bunch of servers for merge and transactional replication, and I'd rather not update all the servers at once (it is actually quite difficult to do this as the data owners have quite different requirements).
My question is whether anyone has any experience running an environment with mixed service packs (SP2/SP3 publishers/subscribers with a SP3 distributor). I know it's early days still for SP3, however any advice on this would be great.

I've not worked with SP3 before, but I have run into replication problems before when servers were patched at different levels, I wouldn't recommend it without testing it out first, in a test environment.

I agree - I am reluctant to have a mixture of versions. However, this affects alot of different systems as the distributor is central to them all. It's not easy to do all of them at the same time unfortunately.
