Hi,
I have tried the installation of SQL Server 2008 SP1 several times on Single node cluster on Windows 2008 and it's keep on failing with the below message:
Instance INS1 overall summary:
Final result: The patch installer has failed to update the shared features. To determine the reason for failure, review the log files.
Exit code (Decimal): -2068709375
Exit facility code: 1202
Exit error code: 1
Exit message: The directory 'f:\baee41947d8ca4d0626e10\' doesn't exist.
Start time: 2010-08-24 13:08:12
End time: 2010-08-24 13:08:50
Requested action:
I have tried manually extracting the SP1 to a temp folder on C drive and then launching setup.exe from there and it was successful.
Is this by design in CLuster Windows 2008 node? Because I have installed SQL Server 2008 SP1 on Stand alone Windows 2008 with NO issues.
Thanks

Here is the solution:
Extract the SP1 files to a temporary folder and then install SP1 from there.
Thanks
