  Hi,

  I have executed the sp for the first time in UAT box and it's having so many update statements. The execution time results around 7 hrs. The same SP have executed in DEV box. its taken around 6.45 mins. Afterwards i closed the query analyzer and again i opened a new window and executed it.

  now the time results shown around 1.50 mins.

  Why is the time variations occurred between dev and uat and dev and dev..

  I would appreciate, if anybody knows kindly share with your suggestions

  There are a lot of things that could be different.

  Are the servers setup and provisioned identically?

  What else is going on the servers?

  Are index and statistics maintenance being performed on both servers?

  Are data volumes the same?
