"Source Control - Unable to access Database" error when opening my reporting services solution

  • I'm getting the following error when I attempt to open my SSRS solution in BIDS:

The associated source control plug-in is not installed or could not be initialized

I have had source control working until very recently, and, suddently, this started happening.

I have tried to follow the recommendations in this link to no avail:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb166193(VS.80).aspx

VSS client is and has always been installed on my machine, and I can view my solution files in the client.

Anyone know what the problem may be?

  • I got a similar (may have been the same) error message at one point when the file was not on the same computer as it had been checked in from. To be more precise, I was accessing it from a network share. Had to close and check out the file in a different way in order to get it to work.

Thank you, I think I will remove all files from that folder and get the latest version from VSS from srcatch. Hopefully, that will do it.
