Friends,
Contd from the last problem, the machine on which we hv hosted hte sql server 2K can also be seen by remote users - some smart users connect to the system through query analyzer and change the values in some of the configurations - which creates further problem for users.
I am not able to find out a way out of this - to recognize and stop. I can nt disable the remote access as well.
Can I trace the person and store this information somewhere??
Thanks in Advance,
Shashi

First of all it is better don't allow remote access to Data server .I don't know what is specific to u to give remote access to users to eneter server.
You can use event viewer security logs to view user details. Also u can put security policy to restrict users remote access to server.
in sql u can use sql profiler to trace user and activities. u can put options according to your criteria.
