Anyone has recommendation about software that can be used to compress large size file, for example, over 100GB? Thanks for your suggestions.

We've had some success with WinAce, but the largest files we've tried with the product were on the order of 30GB. There's a free trial if you want to give it a whirl.

Hi,
I am using Winrar to compress files up to 40 Go. I think it could compress bigger files.

I suggest speaking with the vendors as to the loseless size they can achive. Also, if this is for compressing SQL Server backups then look at SQLZip (Lempel-Ziv compression) or SQL Litespeed both support large data files.

I've been using iceows. It supports compressing to .zip and .ice as well as decompressing from a list of about 25 file types. Check it out at http://www.iceows.com.
Peace Out!

I've used PKZip 6.0 for Windows to zip a 15 GB file. According to their documentation there is no limit to size since version 4.5.

We've also been using WinRar, and we are very happy with it. I think the largest files we've done so far 92GB, and it works like a champ. Great interface, great command line features. Also, inexpensive.

I am using SQL LITE SPEED. FOR my sql backups. And it works great.
Decreased file backup from 10 gigs to 1 gig.
Great Utility. Has anyone used it before.
