So when will it happen?

  • Ok... so you guys closed the thread for the upgrade feedback.  Now, how about a little feedback for us.  When can we look forward to being able to simply copy and paste from SSMS to the SQL IF code without having to jump through hoops to make it look anywhere near something like the original?

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • Hi Jeff,

I spent last Friday and most of the weekend looking into this, but sadly there's no easy fix. The new version of the forum engine has "improved" general support for pasting HTML contents, but unfortunately for us it means that pasting code specifically from SSMS is now actually worse. I haven't forgotten about this, though, and am still looking into it.

    Regards,

    Chris
