Is there anyway to call an SNMP trap from SQL 2005?

we have HP servers and we run the HP foundation agents software on them. We have simple traps for when sql starts and stops. for other things we use alerts and sql jobs that send alerts

to make the story short...our customer doesn't allow us to use SMTP - no alerts. We are also not allowed to connect remotely. All we have is SNMP.
