(sql server 2000 standard)
I need to move all current Snapshot replication setup(for the Publisher and Distributer) to a new server.
Is there an easy process for this?
Is there any work needed on the subscribers?

I believe you will need to disable the replication on the old server, move the database to the new server and re-establish replication on the new server.

what about scripting the replication out?

You can script it, just change the computer names if any are embedded for publisher/distributor.

is scripting the common method?

I'd say it depends on the complexity. If you have a simple setup its easy enough to do it from scratch. Could also be that you want to make changes, so you might just script out a portion (the publication perhaps) and set the other stuff up manually. No right or wrong way as long as it works when you're done.
