Site time stamps wrong

  • So weird thing just popped up. I only noticed it today, so I'm not sure if this was happening last Friday / earlier or if it only happened after the time change. My posts at https://www.sqlservercentral.com/forums/topic/permissions-error-running-dtexec-on-sql-agent-job are suddenly showing 12+ hours off.

At 3:16 p.m. Eastern, I posted a reply to the thread above and it shows I posted it at 1:16 a.m. Did something happen with the time change to the website code? Is this something website wide?

I'm trying to check my profile to see if my timezone got altered but the website is just spinning. I know, however, that my posts have previously shown to be Eastern time.

  • Hmmm, let me post.

  • Working for me. Could you be on VPN or something else?

The site is, I believe, on Mountain time, but should display time based on your browser time.

  • My browser is getting the time zone off my desktop, which is definitely Eastern time. My VPN would be in Central time if that was it. So I'm not sure where the 12+ hour shift is coming from.

Is there a way to add a setting in profile for time zone?

  • There isn't a setting I see. This should work as WordPress does and just take the time from your browser. All I can think is somehow DST messed things up.
