side by side SQL Clusters

  • I've got a 2 node active/passive windows 2003 cluster running a SQL Server 2000 x86 w/ sp4 default instance name using port 1434 and SQL Server 2005 x86 w/ sp3 with a named instance using port 1433.

Now our Enterprise Architect wants me to create another cluster group and install a new 2000 clustered instance.

Of course, each SQL instance will have it's own cluster group, cluster name, ip, port, and drive resources.

If I remember right 2000 can't be installed after 2005, however I can't find this documented anywhere. If anyone knows of a KB article or link, please forward it to me.

    Thanks - Linda

that is all i could find , it does imply that you cannot, but I know it is pretty weak.
