Shrink Database Failure

  • I've searched the net and I've restored a copy of our production database and I cannot shrink the database in Management studio. I'm the only person in that database and I need to kill all locks quickly and easily so that I can complete the shrink.

I just want to kill all locks on that database.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

If you're the only person with access to that database, why do you think there are any locks on a database that you've just restored? Did the database actually restore correctly and is actually online instead of waiting for log restores?

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
