Hi ya,
according to this http://www.sqlservercentral.com/forums/shwmessage.aspx?forumid=112&messageid=172695&p=3 my Nemo avatar isn't appropriate.
Should I change it? Any suggestions?

Don't do a thing! I think posting a lawyer is very humerous.
I wasn't born stupid - I had to study.

I like your avatar as well. It's not a Gundam, but hey, that's not for everybody.

I'm trying to help a new meme along:
http://www.corante.com/copyfight/
The fight being that your avatar is fair use of an image, and doesn't infringe. Unfortunately I'd like to say this is a given, but it's not.

Frank don't change the avatar. You could maybe zoom in a bit more to show more of those gleaming teeth

Aah, now I understand. And although I personally think that's nothing but ridiculous, I have changed the avatar. I don't want to cause any trouble here.
...but I've saved it for better times.

Yeah, I don't like it, too, but it's the best I've found doing a quick search....I'll work on this.

Thanks Phill!
Meanwhile I've read a bit closer into this copyfight thingy. Sad, but true. For now, I'll stick to this one...

Frank,
Dude, I didn't want to discourage you from using it; I was just pointing out that corporations have been known to be really dumb about these things.
My suggestion is that you continue using it until somebody complains; then change it. There is usually a letter or email sent, and you have 3 days (or something like that) to remove it before they really get ticked.
The intellectual property laws in the US are totally screwed up, mainly because our politicians can be bought by big business. In fact, I'm going to see a copyfighter tonight at a book reading in Seattle (part of the http://www.eff.org Pioneer festivities). His name is Cory Doctorow, and he's stinkin' awesome. If you're interested in the future at all you should read his FREE (as in beer) book "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom".

His blog, http://www.boingboing.net/, is totally awesome; you should check it out.

Thanks Calvin, I've downloaded the book and will read it. At a first glance it's doable with a dictionary at my side.

Hah, believe it or not, we here in old (or did he say ancient?) Europe do also have a looong tradition with such hypocrites
I find it very interesting to read things like http://www.opensecrets.org , http://www.capitaleye.org , http://www.fecwatch.org
