Hi,
I'm a new user of SSAS 2008
I have 8 cubes in the same database and all of them use
the same dimensions. I've 13 dimensions for each cubes.
I don't want to repeat datas and I want to share these 13
dimensions between my cubes.
I couldn't find how to do?
Is there anyone who used this application in SSAS 2008 and can he/she
please help me
Thanx

All of the dimensions in an SSAS project are setup to be shared dimensions and you can select which ones you include in each cube, so you are able to use the same date, customer, product, employee, etc. dimension across your database.

thank u for yr response but the problem that first I create my view then i create my cube. I select my mesures and then the dimensions..but the dimensions that i select are named automaticcally different. For exemple i have two dimensions dim_ccptf et et dim_cgp.
For each cubes the tool it puts up dim_ccptf 1 et dim_ccptf 1, dim_ccptf 2 et dim_ccptf 2...exc.And when i deploys the cube in the dimensions part it adds theese dimensions.

create the project in the following order: data source, data source view, dimensions, and then cubes.

Hello,
I have project to build a reporting warehouse.
My reporting tool is Cognos. and my database is SQL 2008. After getting data into relational or dimensional daata warehouse, how do i create cognos metadata layer for reporting?
What would be the best approach? Some one told me i should develop unified data model that will be the layer between data source and reporting layer.
If you have heard or worked on this kind of process then can you send me some info?
Appreicate it.
AAddi

merci dan
in fact thanx fr your help.
I've resolved my problem and i wanted to share with you.
my probleme was that I've created different views for different cubes.
When I created only one view and when I added new diagrams to this view ,I could use the same dimensions for different cubes that I created.
There are so many things to discover:)
