HiWe have a requirement to setup a windows 2 node failover cluster with sqlserver installed outside of the current domain.
Does the failover cluster need to be part of a domain and if so will a third server be then required to act as a domain controller ?
thanks in advance

If you need a domain for your Windows Failover Cluster mostly depends on your OS Version: If it's 2016 you don't need a domain, older versions do require an Active Directory Infrastructure.
