Hi,
Though sys.extended_properties does exist in Azure DW, running
EXEC sp_addextendedproperty
returns an error of "Stored procedure sp_addextendedproperty does not exist or is not supported."
Is there still a way to add/modify an extended property for a column in there?
totally new to Azure DW, thanks in advance

No. According to the documentation, that won't work with Azure SQL Data Warehouse. It also doesn't work with APS.
