Hi,
Our application is receiving an intermittent error: "Please set/extend kernel shared memory paramters This is required for database locking mechanisms"
I analyzed some perfmon parameters and got some interesting informations, for example: the database pages are oscillating a bit and the Free Pages is constantly below the threashold (640).
The server is a 32-bit Windows 2003 R2, with 4 GB of RAM (1,5 GB to SQL Server) with 8 processors.
All other SQL Server and resource metrics are OK.
Does anyone know what this error might be? I didn't find any relevant information about it.
Thanks

Anyone?

That's not a SQL Server error. I'd contact the application vendor.

Thanks! That's what I wanted.
They see anything related to database and they think the problem is with the SQL Server.
Do you have any article/white paper regarding this error?
Thanks

I'm not likely to have a whitepaper about a strange error from an unknown application.... Ask the vendor what, in their application, causes that error.
