It would be nice to have the option to add an article or discussion to a favorites list or star them. I suppose I could manage the articles with a favorites tag, but there is no way to do this with a discussion/forum thread.

It's typical for a discussion forum
I just subscribe to a thread with no email notification for a favorite
For articles, I use the "Briefcase" feature

Ya but the subcriptions are pointless for guys like me... are even much less addict. I have over 10 000 forum subscriptions. There's no easy way to find my way through all that (I can't even import that info to query on it!).

And the subscriptions only display the latest 500 threads. For me, that's completely useless. It's only three weeks worth at the moment.
Frankly I find searching with google far faster than trying to search through the subscriptions.

We are a heavy user of the forum software. Perhaps the largest, and I'm not sure how many people have the 500 post issue.
Adding threads to the briefcase is something we've discussed. It's a resource issue right now.

You could just give us free query access to the database.

There's an idea. We promise we won't break anything....

Steve: Are you able to run ad-hoc queries against the forum DB from time to time? I'm asking because I'm going to need some stats pulling come May next year.

I do run ad hoc queries here and there. And no, not likely to expose that 🙂
The MVP leads contact me at times, and feel free to refer them to me if they ask.
