Hi,
I need to configure SQL server for a warehouse. It'll have 5 databases that will be used for reporting in read-only mode. I will run Cognos cubes/reports against the databases. Can somebody tell me what is recommended for logical disks configuration? Do I need to put .mdb and .ldb files on separate disks? Do I need to have separate disks for something else? What is recommended RAID level?
Thank you very much,
Jane

RAID 5 should be fine if you are not doing any writes to the 5 databases in question. I would put TempDB on RAID 0+1 due to all temp objects being stored there.
