I have noticed that on a couple of my servers the SQL Server Service Startup Account options are disabled and cannot be amended.
This is not the case on all of the servers.
Does anybody know why this would be and what - (if anything) - I can do about it...?
We are using WIN2k advanced server with SQL2000 sp3.
Any help would be appreciated!

To my understanding, If you register that server using Windows Authentication (Trusted) you need Local Admin rights on the server to be able to edit this option.

That's what I thought, thing is I have got local admin rights on the server.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is something to do with the relationship between the server that the SQL Server is on, and the server from which you are accessing it...

Can you also check how you registered this SQL Server from MMC?
Is it using "sa" or Windows NT? Are these two boxes in two seperate domains?
