[Sorry, I originally posted the wrong error message. It has since been updated below]
We have a number of SQL Server 2016 servers in our infrastructure, mainly running Enterprise Edition on Windows 2012 R2 and Windows 2016. Recently we upgraded our test servers from Cumulative Update 8 for Service Pack 1 to Service Pack 2. Everything appears to be running smooth (SSIS, SSRS, core T-SQL) except on servers where we are processing cubes.
On these servers, we are getting the following error:
Process SSAS Data Warehouse:Error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClientUI, Version=13.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
It doesn't seam to matter whether the Process Cube step was launched from a SQL job, or directly from SSIS catalog, or directly from SSAS. They all fail with the same error.
If we uninstall Service Pack 2 the error goes away, and our cube processing jobs begin to run again.
Anyone else seeing this issue with Service Pack 2?

Haven't installed SP2 yet and probably skip it 😉
Did you install SP2 over SP1CU7 or SP1CU8?

vrenninger - Wednesday, May 9, 2018 4:15 AMWe installed SP2 over SP1CU8.
There have been weird issues with adomdclientui.dll for some recent updates, patches. No idea why. It's been the file missing or in the wrong location or permissions missing. Check this thread - you may want to use Process Monitor to see if you are having issues with that same DLL:
