Server Level roles

    Can we create server level roles in 2008R2?

    I am not getting option 'New Server Role' when i right click server roles.

    But How come this document shows can do it.

    sql server denali was the code name for sql server 2012. its a new feature in SQL 2012 to create custom server level roles instead of just the database level roles we can currently define.
