I have setup database mail, in SQL2005 reporting service, Am able to send Test mail properly. I deployed a Report and scheduled to create snapshot and send email (defined to send PDF file, am able to view the report through report manager). It is creating snapshot at the scheduled time, but throwing error "The e-mail address of one or more recipients is not valid." and mails are not going. using a remote mail server for sending. I am able to send mail to the given email id, through the Testmail option.
Please help me to setup and send SQL reports (snapshots) using subscription.

Are you sure you don't have a typo on the email address in the subscription?

The e-mail address given in the subscription is a valid one. It is creating the snapshot, but showing the status as "The e-mail address of one or more recipients is not valid".

Just a note, I don't think SSRS cares about the email address when it creates a snapshot. A bad email wouldn't cause it to not create the snapshot. That's why I'm asking if you double-checked what you typed for the email address in the subscription. I've done that before, typo'd one letter and not caught it. But if you've already double-checked the email address in the subscription to make sure you didn't mistype it...
How many people are you sending out the snapshot to? Just one? Or are there multiple email addresses?
If multiple, how are you separating out the email addresses from each other?

Have you tried testing this report with your own internal email address? It might be you're having problems because you're trying to send the report to an external address.
I'm guessing at this point, though.

I too have had the same message. I set up a subscription that works when I send to a list of VALID email addresses specified in the format:
email1@xyz.com; email2@xyz.com; email3@xyz.com
I get an error message indicating there is an invalid email address when...
1. the list contains an invalid email address (i.e., when an employee leaves the company)
2. I use an Outlook Group name, which is what I wanted to do originally, instead of a list of of email addresses. Obviously, it's easier to manage the receipient list for several subscriptions that all sent to a group name instead of having to modify a long list of email addresses in several subscriptions. I would specify the Outlook group name by supplying our email suffix, as in: EmailGroupName@xyz.com. But that doesn't work either.
Anyone have any suggestions for a better way to manage email addresses.

I tried to send it to my internal email id initially that time also I got the failure status, then I changed to external Id, the same failure status is thrown.

I am completely out of ideas at this point. You probably should call Microsoft support.
Sorry I couldn't help.

Might be a dumb question - but did you use rsconfig to configure email for Reporting Services?
I use an SMTP server for this, not Database mail.
Check your settings in rsconfig

Also - I seem to recall on our SMTP server, we had to allow the server IP access. Most SMTP servers should have some level of security so they are not spam factories.
Thanks,

Check your VirusScan logs. Anti-spam settings could be mucking things up. This was an issue on some of my sql servers.
