Send Mail Task fails when DTS package executed through Schedule

  I have a DTS package which is extracting and transforming data from various sources like text files, excel files & SQl 6.5 DB to SQL 2000 DB. I have used Send Mail Task on failure of each Transform Data Task. The problem is that when I execute the package manually the Send Mail Task executes successfully, but when  it is run through a Schedule the Send Mail Task fails.

  Can anyone let me know the reason to this problem.

  Please clarify which SQL SERVER service pack you are running.If it is SP3 or later then it is a known bug in SP3 and onwards.
