send error mesage from sql server without using sqlmail / mapi

    Hi,

    In our company they don't microsoft exchange mail server . No I joined as a new dba . I am finding problem to automate the error mesage or dba activity to my email. As I can't setup MAPI . Somebody please help me I know there is some alternative way to MAPI as colloboration data objebt but how to implement in right way and set up in job of sql server I don't know I appreciate if somebody tell me the steps to fix it.

    If you use outlook, you can set up MAPI. Outlook can be setup to use an SMTP/POP3 server. However, if Outlook is out as well, look at the following thread as we're discussing alternatives.

    You can refer to http://www.sqldev.net/xp/xpsmtp.htm. This is really a very cool solution. I was having many SQL Mail related problems, but now I have got rid of that. for generating the reports related to DBA activites, it takes soem extra effort, but its amazing
