send email without using Exchange

  Hi,

  all i want to know that how can i send alert from SQL server!! problem we have is they don't use Exchange for internal email they use notes!! So how can i set up alerts on that bases please for sql servers!!

  Another option is to download xp_smtp_sendmail and setup jobs that monitor the server and email alerts using it.
